CURIOSITY
THE VINEYARDS ́ 9 HECTARES ARE SPREAD OUT OVER THE TOWN OF LA RIOJA ALAVESA DE LANCIEGO, SOME OF THE VINES ARE MORE THAN 70 YEARS OLD. THE GRAPES USED TO PRODUCE THE HERRIGOIA COME FROM 10 MICRO-PLOTS AND THE VARIETALS ARE 85% TEMPRANILLO AND THE REST VIURA AND MALVASÍA. THE GRAPES FERMENT IN BIG CEMENT TANKS, WHERE CARBONIC MACERATION TAKES PLACE AND ALSO WHERE IT AGES.
IN BASQUE HERRI MEANS TOWN AND GOIA MEANS UP, ROUGHLY TRANSLATED AS UPTOWN HIGHER GROUNDS. THIS TERROIR RESULTS IN FRESH WINES WITH GREAT ACIDITY.
